Useful terms for anyone interested in purchasing a space heater:

BTU: (British thermal unit ) is used to describe the heating capacity of fuels and is commonly used to describe the power of heating and cooling systems.

CFM: (Cubic Feet per Minute) measures air volume velocity. CFMs are commonly used in measuring air flow from heating or cooling diffusers.

Halogen: Halogen tube heats the room without depleting the oxygen in the air and is is more energy efficient than conventional electric heaters

Infrared Heaters: Refers to the use of a reflective shield to direct radiant heat onto a heated surface.

Direct Vent / Vented: Refers to a gas space heater that must be vented to the outside.

Vent Free / Vent Less: Refers to a gas space heater where no venting system is required.
